Lammefjorden
The area surrounding the drained fjord Lammefjorden and Odsherred peninsula is famous for its long, children-friendly beaches with white sand as far as the eye can see as well as the many cosy sea ports that ooze a special atmosphere. The sea ports are often the place of gathering of the holiday; this is where you eat fresh fish at the restaurants, have an ice cream, stroll along the piers, and where the children catch crabs using fishing lines and bait.
Gourmet food at Dragsholm Castle
Dragsholm Castle is the oldest in Denmark and is situated at the border to the drained fjord. The damming project was initiated by Baron Zypthen Adeler in 1874. Today, the castle is made into a tasteful hotel with a gourmet restaurant that has vegetables and herbs delivered from the castle’s own fields on Lammefjorden. The castle also has a farm shop. Guided tours are available year-round. Read more about Dragsholm Castle

Specialty crops and Lammefjorden Lammefjorden can almost be considered a large ”vegetable garden” where carrots, potatoes, asparagus and leeks are grown. Because of the very fertile agriculture land and the underlying old seabed, it is particularly favourable to grow root crops in this area.
